Heated Platens

Heated platens for presses are designed and manufactured by JRD BIPEL. They are constructed from precision-machined steel plates. Gun drilling is used for cartridge platens.

The type of platen to be used depends on the customer’s application, as temperature can range from 50°C to 430°C.

Type of Platens:

• Electric Platens: for temperatures up to 430°c
• Oil Platens: for temperatures up to 300°c
• Steam Platens: for temperatures up to 160°c

Platen temperature can be set either manually or via a PLC. Water and air cooling systems can be integrated into the design of the heated platens.
